Difficult game down to such a small pitch. It was congested and scrappy at times. Through balls ran out of pitch and there wasn’t much space to run into.

There were some excellent phases of play with great link‑ups, especially out the back, which is what we worked on in training. Always looking to move the ball and play for each other. They were trying really hard and doing the right things, unfortunately this week not always paying off.

The short pitch left us a bit more exposed to the counter‑attack, giving Aylesbury a quicker break‑through which normally wouldn’t be on.

I’m proud of the boys’ attitude today. I heard a few naughty’s from Aylesbury which we didn’t react to, along with some questionable ref and defiant linesman decisions. It didn’t phase us and we carried on moving the ball.
